The HRICS Grants Program
 

2021 Program
HRICS has allocated funding towards a grants program for organisations providing specialist and generalist cancer services to residents of the Hume region. The grants provide funding to organisations within the Hume region to undertake projects that will deliver improvements in processes that support cancer services.


The 2021 funding round will consist of Small Grants (up to $5,000) and Service Improvement Grants (upwards of $5,000). The grants must address one or more of the action areas from the Victorian Cancer Plan 2020-2024 and the Hume Region Cancer Services Plan 2020-2025. 
The 2021 funding round opens Dec 2020 and closes at 5pm on Fri 19 March 2021.


Application forms are to be submitted by email to joanne.mason@gvhealth.org.au with “HRICS FUNDING PROGRAM 2021” in the email header.

2021 Funding Round
Applying for a Small Grant
(Amount up to $5,000)

Step 1:

Review and understand the requirements and guidelines for the Grants Program.

Step 2:

Complete and submit application form for HRICS Small Grants Program to joanne.mason@gvhealth.org.au

Step 3:

The Grant Program team at HRICS will review and assess your applications according to their guidelines. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified at this stage.

Step 4:

The Grant Program team at HRICS will inform you of the outcomes of your applications and arrange for grants payment if applicable.

Applying for an Improvement Grant
(Amount greater than $5,000)

Step 1:

Review and understand the requirements and guidelines for the Grants Program.

Step 2:

Complete and submit your Expression of Interest form for HRICS Improvement Grants Program to joanne.mason@gvhealth.org.au

Step 3:

The Grant Program team at HRICS will review and shortlist projects that will proceed to the panel assessment stage. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified at this stage.

Step 4:

The Grant Program team at HRICS will inform you of the outcomes of your applications and arrange for grants payment if applicable. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to provide additional information for the panel assessment.

Step 5:

A panel of stakeholders ranging from health services medical professionals to consumer representatives to assess shortlisted applications.

Step 6:

The Grant Program team at HRICS will inform you of the outcomes of your applications and arrange for grants payment if applicable.

2020 Program 

The following projects and health services were successfully awarded a grant in the 2020 grant program:

  • Goulburn Valley Health Nutrition and Dietetics department – Pilot trial of implementing the PG-SGA as a validated malnutrition assessment tool in a day oncology setting.  

  • Beechworth Health – Unifying our local resources to upskill for supportive cancer care and service co-ordination (partnering with Beechworth Surgery and Beechworth Pharmacy).

  • Goulburn Valley Health Speech Pathology – Improved Emergency Laryngectomy Management for patients attending GVH Emergency Department.

  • Tallangatta Health Service – Optimal Care Pathway for End of Life (partnering with Tallangatta Medical Centre).
