GICS Professional Development Grants Wrap Up

Our Professional Development Grant applications closed on 30 June 2025 and we’re pleased to have received over 30 EOI / applications from staff across the Grampians region to attend various opportunities, not only locally and interstate, but also internationally.

GICS have received great feedback about our PD Grants with over $20,000 in funding made available to staff who provide cancer care to attend conferences or training courses to further upskill and gain valuable knowledge and insight.

To help GICS measure the success/benefits of this program, we set a requirement for all grant recipients to complete a brief evaluation report with positive feedback shared back to the team.

This funding aided Sindi, a nurse from Grampians Health – Horsham, to travel interstate to attend the CNSA Conference in Adelaide.

Fortunately I was able to attend this great learning event due to the assistance of this grant. Thank you as I will be able to share my new knowledge with my team.

Sindi Taylor | Grampians Health – Horsham

This grant program assisted Sue to attend Oncology Nursing Society 50th Annual Congress in Denver USA. Sue shared that she will apply her learnings with her patients.

Very grateful to GICS for the support. In my clinical role in clinics with seeing patients and reviewing patients in (Symptom Urgent Review Clinic) SURC, I will use my knowledge that I have gained in patient-centred care.

Sue Bartlett | Grampians Health – Ballarat

We’re currently collating a report to summarise and evaluate this funding program.

We are pleased to announce we will be running another PD Grant funding round for 2025-26 and we’ll have further information on our Grants page soon.
