HRICS 2025 Michael Kalimnios Memorial Funded Program (MK Program) Successful Recipients

HRICS 2025 Michael Kalimnios Memorial Funded Program (MK Program)

Designed to formally acknowledge and honour Michael’s contributions to health and cancer services within our region. Michael served as Chair of our HRICS Governance Committee for two years and was a passionate advocate for cancer services improvement.
The MK Program builds upon the success of our previous Small Grants program in 2024 which funded a wide range of small, time limited impactful projects. As part of the new MK program, HRICS has expanded the scope to include additional opportunities for training and education. This multi faceted approach, aims to ensure that grant recipients are equipped with the skills, knowledge and resources to deliver and drive meaningful improvements in systems or processes that support cancer services.
In March the four successful MK Grant project recipients were announced and their projects as follows:
1. Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service – Implementation of Palliative care packs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
2. Albury Wodonga Health – Prostate Centre Clinical Placement
3. Nathalia, Cobram, Numurkah (NCN) Health – Enhancing consumer experience of Endoscopy procedures at NCN Health
4. Ramsay Health – Implementation of Ultrasound-guided intravenous cannulation at Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre
HRICS look forward to supporting and seeing these innovative projects evolve.
