VICS at CNSA Congress 2025
Representatives from across the VICS attended the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia (CNSA) Congress in Adelaide, 18–21 June 2025, to learn, present, and network.
Kirsten Ives (GICS) and Rebecca McAllister (HRICS) gave an oral presentation on ‘Optimising Supportive Care Screening in Cancer Services: Key Findings from a Self-assessment Survey’ and had a poster displayed (PDF here), on behalf of the VICS Supportive Care Working Group. Eva Gauci (Oncology Nurse, GV Health) also had a poster presentation for a project that was funded and supported by HRICS, on sharing knowledge between GV Health Oncology and community clinicians (PDF here). Read more about HRICS’ Service Improvement Grants Program here.
Leesa Jenkins (BSWRICS) presented 2 posters – one on the Barwon South West Regional Cancer Nursing Network (PDF here; more on the network here) and one on innovative models of nursing workforce training and education (PDF here).
Kelly Koschade (Nurse Practitioner – Palliative Care, Latrobe Regional Health) gave an oral presentation on a GRICS-supported project – ‘Timeliness of palliative care referrals for oesophagogastric and pancreatic cancer patients in Gippsland’. Download Kelly’s slides here (PPT).
GRICS also provided 4 posters on:
- supporting regional collaboration for care coordination (PDF)
- advancing shared care governance in Gippsland (PDF)
- regionalising home-based treatment for multiple myeloma (PDF)
